I didn't know what to expect......but what a treat!!!! Such an interesting bird! Love the colors and his white "come hither" feathers!

Ooooh! I like this one, too! I would REALLY like to plan a trip to Australia/NZ for site seeing and birding. Trouble is convincing hubby to put up with the long flights!

Do you use any noise reduction? I think just a bit of NR would improve the images a lot.

Hi Karen, you are correct, I do need a little kick up the rear when it comes to PP. My computers are fairly ancient , and PP seems to take an age !!

These are all excellent. The second and third really display all of the colors, feather detail, parson's collar, etc. Really well done.

The tui has been my nemesis when we've traveled to NZ. I've shot dozens of frames of them but there's always something. Backlit, too dark, too high in tree, etc, etc.

Thanks Dan, They can be very frustrating, I am lucky enough to have a large Flowering Cherry in the garden (yard !) which attracts dozens . But still had many fruitless days.
I'm looking forward to having another session or 4 in August with the 800. !

The first two shots have a lot of potential but they are asking for just 5 minutes of PP to push them over the edge...

Try using something like DXO Pure RAW or Adobe's new AI Denoise on them and perhaps the subject detection feature to spruce up the birds.

Many thanks for your advice Stephan. I should try to up-skill my PP.

So lovely to see these Stumpy, and brings back fond memories of a happy few months doing a sabbatical in Auckland and visiting Tiri Tiri Matangi and many lovely places on N and S Island

Thanks Bruce, I still haven't been to Tiri Tiri Matangi, I'll have to get it organized.
