I'm wondering what you think of the negative space with Fall reflections in this composition. TIA.

I like the reflected fall colors and if they filled all the space around your subject that could have been very nice. But that big blue patch of sky breaks up those colors and to me lessens the value of including so much area around the Mallard.

I'm afraid that I must admit that I am a registered "crop-aholic".
I like how it gives a sense of space, location, and season. I like the diamondish pattern in the water. I like the way the reflection narrows at the top and you have us the end of it and a little more to keep the eye in the frame. I like the green band up the left side as it frames the image. I would heal the little blob and bit of blue that interrupts the green pattern top right. I know it's small but it catches my attention for no good reason. Top left I would extend the gold in a band to the top, so it mirrors the green band on the right, so there is a frame left and right.

I really like the negative space. The colors in the water look nice, and complimentary. It all works providing a sense of the environment and time of the year.
