Information indicates it uses control points in processing workflow, similar to NIK/DXO
So do the latest versions of NX-D.

I'm quite interested in how this new software performs. I'll give it a try. What I don't know is whether it will mess up my present installation of NX-D. I guess I'll have to try to run both on one of my old machines before I put it on my main machine.

Supposedly it wipes out NX-i when it installs. Haven't heard anything about NX-d.

I just got the e-mail from Nikon this morning about their new NX Studio photo processing software.

I use the Photos app on my Mac for initial quick tweaks of my images, Topaz Labs' DeNoise Ai and Sharpen Ai to fix those issues, and I recently got Affinity Photo (which is currently 50% off from it's list price of $50.)

I'm currently trying to learn how to use Affinity Photo. Is there ANY advantage to me getting Nikon's NX Studio?

Thanks for your input.

It is completely free!
I think Nikon SW was / is respected as a good RAW converter and accurate in terms of exposure etc as it is for Nikon by Nikon? Free so no harm in having a look?

Replying to myself: It uninstalls NX-I and leaves NX-D untouched. First impressions are pretty good. Definitely faster than NX-D, one of my main complaints about NX-D. Control points work very nicely like they should.

Nice one, Nikon!

I have downloaded and used it on my laptop and my experiene match those who have already posted. I did notice that in the top toolbar, there is no longer a box at the right for Dual Monitor. Does anybody have any experience with Nikon Studiio with two monitors? I could not find this addressed in the manual for Studio.

It has Control Points for selected local adjustments like brightness, contrast, but the selections available are not as extensive as control points in DXO PL and ssome NIK plug ins.

I plan to test out the speed of rendering RAW images in the browser. One of my issues with View NX-i is that once you star rate the images or add keywords, the rendering is much slower than without anything added to the image. I want to see how Studio performs with respect to this matter.
