Hey everyone,
I was looking around for something that would be a good travel lens for my Z6ii. The 24-70 kit lens is very good, I am just looking for more reach in a good walk around lens. Does anyone have this lens and have anything good or bad to say about it? Reviews online seem to be very good.

Well I went ahead and got the lens, seems to be a wonderful travel lens, pictures are very sharp. I do wish it had a external VR button and A/M focus button, but other than that it seems like its going to be a favorite.

What I didn't plan for was the 500PF sitting on the shelf that the sales guy let me play with... So now I'm the proud owner of that lens as well! I had always been curious about it and wanted one eventually, but they have been out of stock here for a while, so I had never actually touched one before.
I am blown away by the size and portability, but more so than that the quality and sharpness it produces.
I'm much poorer, but we are leaving for Hawaii tomorrow, so they will get some great use right off the bat.

What is everyone programing the buttons for on the 500 PF with a Z6ii?

For use with my Z6II I program the lens button for memory recall as in some situations the Z6 II has a tendency to throw everything completely out of focus and the AF system just seems to stop trying so subsequent presses on the back AF-ON button (or half presses of the shutter release when not using BBAF) won't bring the lens back to close focus. Using the memory recall button is a quick way to get the lens back when that happens.

I have the 24-200 and think it's an overall good landscape and travel lens. I don't think I would try to use it for much more, though I did use it to photo my grandsons soccer game with some success. However, they are 3 years old and don't move so fast. The hit rate was higher than expected but it doesn't compete with fast glass made for sports. I intend to use it mostly for landscapes and some travel. It's a pretty sharp lens with good contrast and color.

Are you still liking the 24-200? I travel to Nashville from Colorado about once a month to visit my grandson and every time I pack to go, I take my Z6ii with 24-70 f4 but my 70-200 f2.8 F mount goes in and out of my bag multiple times and I have yet to take it with me. I love the lens and would like the 200mm but it is just to big and heavy to carry. I am considering the Z 24-200 as a travel lens and was wondering if you have any additional comments.

Well I dont have the lens anymore after moving to Sony a month or so ago, but the 24-200 was what was on my Z6ii most of the time. It was a very versatile lens and I felt like it took very sharp photos. I would recommend it for a travel lens for sure

I have the z14-24;z24-70/4;z70-200 but they’re too heavy for my recent island trip where I was in and out of zodiacs. A week before, after a month of trying to decide which of those to take, I got myself the z24-200.
superb travel lens and perfect for my needs then quite sharp apart from at the extremes and fast enough. I’ll take it on more travels but my other lenses are definitely sharper through their focal range with very little chromatic aberration.
