Great image. Where was this shot?
Thank you. Taken at Whitewater Draw, Arizona Game & Fish Department's property in the Sulphur Springs Valley about 50 miles south of Willcox, AZ, near a wide spot in the road
called McNeal. If you want to know more about it you can go to AGFD's site where they have a crane cam I believe. This time of year there are several thousand cranes, by January probably 20,000 or more.

Love it. Lots of great bird shots have come from Wastewater Draw and the spot you aptly describe as a wide spot in the road. This is certainly one of them and the best I've seen that not a Crane! Were you really trying to capture a couple of ducks or did they intersect the view finder while tracking cranes???

Thank you. Long story. Switched to OM-1 and Olympus 150-400 telephoto. Took both to Whitewater to see what they would do. So cranes were flying in way distant, but the ducks were close. Also took some nice crane shots, but living close to Whitewater and having made multiple trips to Bosque del Apache, really didn't need any more crane images, though I kept some. :) In short, I was looking for anything that was flying. Whitewater is a great place for raptors as well.
