Not Macro or closeup in the sense of DSLRs with high-end lens and macro eqpt, but I used my Iphone 8... I was happy with the result

Your photos are a great reminder that we can certainly get caught up in having to have the best camera and best lenses. I did a 3 week round the world trip in the fall of 2019 and because I wanted to travel light, I only took my iPhone 11 Pro. I was thoroughly satisfied with my photos and never once regretted not having my DSLR. It takes amazing low light photos and no fussing with having to change lenses. I would have no problem printing an 8x12 print which is the biggest I ever go.
These are 2 samples from Singapore.

'Taint the camera, it's the photographer :)
I know a very accomplished portrait and 'art' photographer in NYC and she was once invited to show some her photographs in a slide show (yah, I'm ageing myself) at a dinner party. At the conclusion of her presentation the host said many nice things and included with the 'you must have a great camera to get such wonderful photos' thingy. Later when leaving the party my friend thanked the host for the great meal -- "That was truly delicious food, you must have great pots and pans." LOL
