Evening Steve.
Didn't know if this was the correct place to post this but sorry if not.
I just wanted to know how your recent workshop to Botswana with Pangolin Safaris went?
I'd have love to have gone but just missed out.
I'm due to retire next year so was wondering if you had another date in the pipeline?
Thanks.

Sorry for the delay.

The workshop went well and Pangolin was outstanding. We don't have any open dates for 2022 however. If you decide to go without us, please let them know we sent you. We hope to add some new dates in 2023.

Sorry for the delay Steve, I'm the one that now owes you the apology.
Things have kicked off over here with this new variant of Covid which has again restricted travel to & from the UK & that combined with the fact my company have asked me to delay my retirement until September 2022 will probably make 2023 a better option for me.
Should I just keep checking your website for future dates?
Many thanks & stay safe mate.

Our e-mail newsletter from the main site is probably the best bet - we always announce in there if there are any new workshops.

The truth is, we just don't know what we're going to do at this moment with the safaris. Within a week of Omicron hitting the US, we had people cancelling their 2022 trips - it's just such a nightmare to do these workshops anymore. The thing is I WANT to do the workshops, but when we aren't going to announce them until probably just a few months beforehand since the future is so uncertain. Heck, even that wouldn't have worked this time! Hopefully things will eventually hit some sort of equilibrium with COVID where we just know how to handle it better as a species - and maybe that happens around late 2022 or early 2023 :)

I totally understand what you're saying & as you say it must be a nightmare trying to plan anything in advance with the situation the way it is.
I think I'm right in saying that the flight to Kasane leaves from Cape Town International, but South Africa is still on the red list over here & looks set to stay there for many months.
Just a question, do you do one to one tuition which is something I'd be interested in doing?
Hope you're having fun with that Z9 :)

Hopefully the situation will improve sooner rather than later. That's really the worst thing about all of this when it comes to travel - everything is always subject to change at any moment - heck, even while your eon a trip it can happen.

Also, generally I don't of one-on-ones - I just don't have the time.

I think we just need to keep our fingers crossed & accept that this has become the new norm & work out a way to accommodate it in our lives like we did with the flu.
Shame about the ‘one to one’ but totally understand.
Keep up the great work.

How about a couple of days at Kennsington Regional Park by Detroit?? I'd make the drive!! Some macro, birds and landscapes (which I suck at). My family and I used to live in Brighton (35 years ago) and we spent a lot of time in that park!!!

Or the Badlands (north or south), any time after May 1st (done with classes then!).

Or....???

If I lived in America I'd take you up on that Andrew.
If all goes well maybe I'll get the chance to buy you a beer in 2023 on Steve's Pangolin trip :)
By the way, take a look on Youtube at the new water hide at the Pangolin Hotel, it looks amazing.
