Perfect Morning

One of my favorite photos from one of my favorite spots to shoot - the lighthouse in Algoma, WI. This was taken back in 2018 and was one of those rare occasions where the clouds cooperated with me in the morning and provided some excellent colors. It was also right after I bought my first full frame camera and was trying to be more deliberate in my shooting. This lighthouse is situated at the mouth of a river that flows into Lake Michigan and has pierheads on both the north and south side of the river. Most of the time I shoot this location I'm shooting from the south side of the river. On this particular occasion I tried from the north side and tried to use the catwalk to frame the photo. Looking back at it now, I could improve a couple things like possibly using a reverse grad filter, but I still like it. I actually managed to get this photo featured in the Wisconsin DNR's 2022 Great Lakes Calendar in the wake of their annual photo contest.
