Everyone certainly has their own preferences. My question involves the sustainable weight at the camera/lens mount point. Since the lens, in most cases, is probably heavier or equal to that of the camera, should the weight be on the lens foot or equally distributed between the camera and lens foot during carry?
Specifically looking at utilizing a Peak Design strap with a D850 and a Tamron 150-600 for an extended hike. My concern here would be placing too much stress at the lens mount.
Weight distribution between the lens foot and either the neck strap eyelet or the tripod mount would seem to provide a more comfortable transport with a strap but would seem to add more stress to the mount itself. Any advice here would be appreciated.
