It's getting towards the end of the year and I thought it would be fun to post some of our best / favorite shots from the last twelve months. Only post images you captured this year and please keep it to eight photos or less (I know, it's tough if it's been a busy year). I can't wait to see what you captured! (I'd post some of my own, but I didn't get any landscapes in this year, so it's up to you!)

This was a tough year for me for landscapes (which is mostly what I do) because of a few things, mostly the wildfire smoke up here in the PNW.

I did find one clear day new Washington Pass in the North Cascades for some autumn larches, though I had to drive through pea soup smoke to get there. (Fujifilm GFX100s, GF45mm (36mm eq.) @ f8)

I was smoked out at Mount Rainier National Park, but I managed to cut through the haze with the infrared camera (full-spectrum conversion w/720nm filter) to capture Mt. Adams from Dege Peak (Fujifilm GFX50s, GF110mm (87mm eq.) @ f5.6).

Here's the same mountain from the same place with a wider lens @ 4:3 to get more sky, smoke wisps, and the moon (Fujifilm GFX50s, GF63mm (50mm eq.) @ f4):

Great series!

Late to the show again friends! However I did sneak out despite Covid. Images from the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. For the Moon / Jupiter conjunction I had the Moon and Jupiter in the same frame at 700mm. However I had to move each to the side of the frame and expose separately. The moon at a fast shutter and 64 iso, and the planet the slowest shutter not to get motion blur and iso 6,400. An ap. on the web allowed me to identify the 4 Galilean Moons around Jupiter. Amazing that Galileo first saw these moons in 1610!

A few from my year.
In February I was in Cornwall for the first of 3 named storms:

In May I was in Svalbard mainly for wildlife but the landscapes were stunning:

In December our usually gently boring scenery was transformed by a week of snow and frost:
