Fantastic shot! Happy to see one of these guys...they're having a hard time here in the west. This one is even banded. Looks like it's getting good meals!
In Cape Coral these guys were seemed to pretty much be on every vacant street corner. This was right next to the Library parking lot and there were at least a 1/2 dozen burrows at this location.

Really great catch for both of you!!!!!
It was comical, he saw us approach and quickly ran in to his burrow. I thought I had missed an oppurtunity when seconds later came out and approached us presenting the frog. Stayed above it’s burrow and eating the frog over the next 10 minutes.

Returned for something smaller, Customer service guaranteed this would work. Seems a little long.

Red Breasted Merganser in a sea of gold. Morning light. I like the lower able but I was on up on a levee, got as low as possible to get a better angle which eliminated the rocky background. My hair in the morning when I had such a thing.

I was watching this Great Horned Owl chick that had recently fledged fly tentatively from one tree to another and was hoping he'd fly to a lower branch where I might get a shot. He apparently was curious and flew right towards me then dropped to a low branch straight in front of me..... but he missed the landing and found himself hanging upside down looking none too happy to be right in front of a camera :)

Not to worry he flopped around for a bit but found a way back up onto the branch where he hung out for a bit and eventually flew away more gracefully back up towards higher branches.

Egrets seem photogenic until you get a frontal shot of their face...

Careful on the beach you may be charged by a Sooty Oystercatcher, head down and menacing?
