I have just received my hood and pinch cap for the 800 pf. They fit beautifully and so much easier to use than the original monstrosities that came with it
Just got back from a 12 day trip to Costa Rica. LOVED the Zemlin cap and hood for my 600mm TC! Thank you, Karl!

I got my 800 PF hood and cap last week. Worth every penny and then some. I'm now eyeing my 600/4 for the same hood/cap treatment.

Just received mine for the 800pf today. Engineering, fit, finish, and quality are all top notch. A must have if you have this lens.

I got my Zemlin hood and cap for the Z 800mm S lens. It is FANTASTIC. Makes the stock hood and flimsy cap seem like a beginners accessory. I recommend for anyone with big glass.
Zemlin just added three length hoods for Nikkor 100-400 f4.5-5.6. I've got one in the mail.
Ordered one today for my Z 100-400.

Zemlin hood on the Sony 600mm G Master, it's really neat, much better than the OEM soft cap.
The installation is a breeze, just make sure you chomp down the smarties candies in the package.

Fedex messed up with a package, But Mr. Karl was right on it, and sent another one.
When I’m excited to open the box and leave the paper work for ‘later’… of course I ran into trouble…( lesson learned..) Mr. Carl helped me over the phone and I’m so happy. The original long hood made me push off opportunities because it was too big. With the new shorter hood, I can’t wait to go out again and shoot.

If needed, I can recapture pictures with a Z7ii and 105mm with lightning.
I also purchased the Eye cup. Will see how it feels on the next session. On first try it felt soft and better from all other options available.
With the Zamlin eye cup and shortest hood in reverse with the cap, it fits in the Nikon supplied bag/case.

I've ordered the cap for my 800. What are the advantages of the hood compared to the original supplied by Nikon?
It's easier to put on and off to start.
I went with the one that's about an inch shorter which should be easier to move around and still protect the front glass.

Just ordered the 90mm hood for my Nikon Z 100-400mm. Can't wait to try it out. Thank you Karl.
Reminds me when I shot w/ the Canon 600 f/4 III, and Canon offered a stubby hood that totally changed how the lens handled. Going to place an order for my incoming 800PF!
Jealous of the 600 TC. Perhaps someday (hopefully soon) I, too, will have 600 TC. Already purchased the lens cap, now waiting on the lens before I get the hood.

Pat, the OEM 800mm F/5.6 lens hood costs $1000 & is no longer in production.

Ordered a pair of hoods for the 100-400, one for me and one my wife who has met a hood that she did not hate. Perhaps the Zemlin hoods will be the first she likes
Received a Zemlin lens cap for my Nikon 500mm f4 last week. The quality and fit is excellent. Highly recommended.

Shipped your order today. Sounds like the ultimate challenge. I threw in a couple extra rolls of Smarties (hope she likes Smarties) and a couple of my new stickers to help win her over ... lol. Be sure to report back on how she likes it ... or doesn't.
I too placed my order for hood+cap the other day! It’s pretty awesome seeing the person who makes a great product, active in the community here. Don’t see that too often

Irecieved my two piece lens hood and cap a couple weeks ago. Could not be happier with them. Handles well and is much better than the flimsy hood cover that comes with the. Lens. You will be glad you got the Zemlin hood and cap.
I am constantly amazed at the quality of information shared here and the joy with which it is done. I came into this thread, never having ever heard of Karl Zemlin or his hoods before, and now I feel like I almost know him and I certainly admire him and his caring more for his wife than in keeping the business open during her surgery and recovery.

Rick, i have been considering the 2 piece option, myself for my 800. What would you consider to be the advantages?
