Really love m43rds for macro and close-up

Well balanced bodies, small lenses, flippy tilty lcd's to avoid weird macro-yoga poses and overall more than decent image quality make for a compeling package for someone who has weight lifting restrictions but still wants to enjoy the hobby of photography.

All images below shot with Panasonic G9, PL 50-200 f2.8-4 + TC14x or Olympus 60mm f2.8. Edited with DXO PureRAW for NR and some small tweaks in LR.

I can see why you love the m4/3 - super macro work
Thank you! :D

Great results. Looks like it works for you.

Thank you!
It's quite surprising how well it works... I've been using a mixture of m43, Nikon APS-C and FF for a while now but until the end of the year, forced by the circumstances, I'm a m43 shooter only.
I am actually surprised how well it works for me, so much that I've postponed the buying of a 500mm PF, thinking it might make more sense for me to get an OM-1 and 300mm f4.

The 60/2.8 is my favorite macro lens ever. I love focus limiter dial’s rocker to go immediately to 1:1.

I really like the first photo, well done!
Thank you! :)

I find the 60mm f2.8, for it's size and price to be amazing. The dial rocker is handy, but I wished it would have returned to the laste focus limit position used, not just to 0.19-0.4m...

Great shots!
Thank you! :)

Nice, nice, thanks for posting. More proof that MFT isn't what all too many FF users who haven't even tried MFT say it is.
Thank you! :)

While there are clear advantages to FF over MFT, there are also advantages of MFT over FF. It depends on ones needs, subjects, shooting style and not lastly, budget :). Perhaps MFT marketing should have focused on getting every FF user to buy a MFT camear too, instead of suggesting MFT is equal to FF :p.

Now, back to the images... Not all flies make honey... but some do :)

Got out today once more with my G9 and 60mm f2.8 on a overcast rainy day. Used the Godox MF12 flash system with the XT2-O trigger and a Raynox 150 lens.

The setup looks kind of like this:

Most were shot at ISO200, f11, 1/250s using mechanical shutter. I must admit that looking at the shots on my PC afterward, I could have went with f8 as the DoF was enough and by f11 the difraction was having a clear impact.

Oh, and a bonus shot, the G9 and 60mm (120mm-eq) next to a Nikon Z6 and 105mm macro (which is much lighter than it looks):

The third shot is a dandy. Shaky me has enough trouble holding my MFT macro rig steady that I can't imagine what problems I'd have with a heavier rig, although the inertia of the heavier camera/lens might counteract some of the shake.

Thank you :).
I've actually found in practice that, with longer focal lengths, heavier rigs are actually easier to steady.
For example, on a Panasonic GX-7 with the Olympus 75-300mm I can't take a sharp shot slower than 1/1500 to save my life, while with a D810 and 150-600mm that are three times as heavy, I can go down to 1/500s without OIS...

It is amazing how well the Raynox 1.5 and 2.5 work! I have both.
I've grabbed both but only got the chance to use the 1.5 in the field. I am amazed how sharp it is.

Thank you all for the kind words.

While I've been dabbling in macro and close-up photography for years, I haven't been shooting such subjects as often as I want to due to a lack of time :).

I do have a good teacher that is very passionate about this stuff so I stole some skill from him ;).
