Thanks Tadzio. Yes, I was able to get pretty close. I was using a 300mm (no TC) and the photo was only slightly cropped. You have to come up to the animals very slowly, take your time and earn their trust. Too many people rush up and frighten them and never get a shot.

Thanks Gary, I was pretty close to the hawk and the Nikon 300pf has great bokeh when your focussing that close on the subject.
