I was near the Toronto airport today. There are always hawks that hunt the fields around the perimeter. I found this hawk perched on a post as I was driving past. I pulled the car over and stopped. At first I tried to shoot the perched bird through the open passenger window but heat waves emanating from the car made for poor focus so I had to get out. As I climbed out the bird was off. Having expected this behavior I was ready with the camera and fired off a burst of shots. I was happy that all of them were sharp. Focus tracking worked well.

Great shooting Rassie, looks like the Z6ll and the 200-500 is working out well for you. (y) (y)(y)(y)(y)
Thanks, Ira. Yeah, I’ve had the lens since 2016. Used it on the D7000, D7100, D7500, Z6, and lately the Z6II. It has performed flawlessly all that time, and has been especially sharp on the Z bodies. With it being as sharp as it is it’s been hard for me to convince myself to buy the 500 PF. The lens is heavy and relatively slow-focusing but is still a great performer in terms of IQ.
