Red-whiskered Bulbul, Pasadena, CA

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

We have a strong wild population of Red-whiskered Bulbuls somewhat centered around Arcadia, San Marino and Pasadena CA (and now surrounding areas). Originally from India, there is also a small population in Florida. I shot this one last year as it ate Toyon berries in our yard. I came across this image yesterday as my wife and I prepare to make some Christmas cards (and maybe a calendar or two). Nikon D500, Sigma 150-600c, hand-held:

Nice bird and moment you captured. Geeze now I have to visit the in laws again to get Allen's, Burrowing Owls at Salton and now this! Maybe I can send you my Toyon in the snow and you can photoshop this bird into the scene for me for Christmas cards too.

Give me a shout when you get out here…we’ll go shooting together!
