This is a follow-up on a previous post about a radio transmitter/receiver set that will work with the D500 and SB-700. I sold the Altura set because it won't work with my D500 to fire the SB-700 off-camera. If any members own or have owned a D500 and SB-700 and have found a radio /transmitter set that will fire the SB-700 off-camera please reply with the product name. Thanks.

Like Dan when I switched to radio triggers I used Godox X1n/T on the camera and 4 x X1nRs on my SB800s and SB900. This was with my D700, D810 and D850. I later got the XPro 1 trigger as it has a better layout and a bigger LCD.

In the UK, Godox kit is available from several outlets re-branded. Essential Photo being very popular using the Pixapro label, but there are others. Advantages are that the items are cheaper, carry a 2 year warranty instead of 1 and their customer service is good - unlike Godox. If you decide that they are for you it is worth checking to see if similar rebranding exists in the USA.

Adorama carries Godox flash units and wireless transmitters/receivers that are rebranded as Flashpoint. Same price as I paid for the Godox, a one year warranty (but I’m told Adorama handles warranty issues).
I’d prefer the Pro unit also. Bigger screen, plus more dedicated buttons rather than repeated button presses to cycle through those functions.
