Great sunrise photos and the elk too. Maybe I’ll get a couple like this next time.
Hey Joe,
The top two are in reverse sequence. Note the second one is at 8 seconds, ISO 4000. To the naked eye, it was still very dark. I knew the single cow was in the middle of the lake only because my flashlight caught her eye as I walked to our spot. I just set up and took my chances. Apparently she held relatively still for the 8 seconds. As it got lighter, I learned the others were over at the left shore. It wasn't until I got home did I learn they were also in the shot. When I later shot the first one, the light was more dramatic, the lake had turned to glass, but the elk had moved on. The third one is across the Sheep Lake Meadow along Fall River Road.
