At refuge yesterday and there was a large mass of Snowy egrets and appears they were grabbing pollywogs right and left in the last remaining water in the refuge. It was fun to watch. Some dressed in full plumage and the youngins having wild hair days.

Great series Kurt!👍👍👍
Thanks Ralph went for the baby owls but got distracted by this group of 30-40 egrets right next to road at sunrise. Too many pics to post of these guys. Groups harder to shoot than singles since so much overlap. Thanks for looking. Very productive photo day saw the Owls, both babies again, egrets cowbird, Ibis, pheasant, turtles and meadowlarks., and Marsh wren finished a nest I saw 4 days prior when first started. Posted same egret twice above, caught mistake and put correct one in.

Nice set. They do show some wild looks now and then.
Thanks Dan. Taking pictures in the masses turned out tough to isolate what you want to see. The young ones were jumping around a lot and gave the wild looks. I love the flowing plumage on these guys. So, these birds stand around in muck all day and their whites still look clean! Why can't they make a shirt like that? Just saying.

Wow! You had a great day shooting. I went our yesterday and thought I had a good day but nothing like yours. Checked on ospreys, I think it will be another 2 weeks before the eggs hatch. Hopping for some good shots.

Good luck. Going over to Mono lake for Osprey nesting soon, they fish in adjacent lakes since nothing but Brine shrimp lives in that lake anyway. Took some last year but didn"t have TC on camera and need a little reach to see nests clearly on Tufa. This was last year early June, first outing with D850/500pf I did except around house stuff. Didn't quite cut it mega crop.
