I typically try to fill a good portion of the frame with songbirds but I kinda liked the way this came out and how it's pretty much how I usually see Chipping Sparrows and other small birds out in the field.

Great shots Doug. American Dippers are some of my favorite birds, I love to see them do their underwater hunting and the little bob they do while standing around.

Was driving home from a week of work in Seattle when I started to feel a bit groggy and decided to pull over and take a driving break. No rest stops coming up so I just took the next exit which dumped me on a gravel road running off into farm land. Took a quick nap and ate a bit then started looking around and noticed some interesting birds foraging in the fields and then hanging out on the barbed wire fencing, the clouds rolling through helped soften the mid day sun so I dug out my camera gear for a photo session. Here's a couple shot with the Nikon Z6 II and 600mm f/4.

The clouds parted and the sun got pretty harsh so I started thinking about driving some more but as I got back in the car and headed towards the entrance ramp I noticed a Cliff Swallow colony underneath the freeway overpass and couldn't pass up the opportunity for some closeups in the shade of the overpass.

Just goes to show you never know where you'll find cooperative wildlife.

I have been seeing a few Western Kingbirds lately, beautiful birds. As usual, nicely done DR (y)
