The owner of our lodge was kind enough to park his boat and leave it overnight so we could use it in our sunrise photographs.

Should have asked him to park it the opposite direction so it would have faced into the frame

We didn't have any mornings like that while you were up here. Which is not unusual. I can see both Mount Redoubt and Illiamna from my house and MANY times they are in sunlight when it's overcast here in Anchorage.

LOL - Ok Dan, this one is for you. We had two really nice days (not consecutive) and the rest were rainy, cloudy and cool. This was one of the nice ones.

I like the placement of the boat better on the second shot. Nice colors.

Yeah, I probably should have posted the second one first. Thanks.

Lovely images. Would have been nice to have been on that yacht! 🍾

Yacht might be a bit of a stretch. However, it was a very cool boat. It was custom designed; the bow of the boat could open up and swing down, creating a set of steps to allow clients to walk right up on the shore. This made it very convenient to get ashore when photographing the puffins.

you are of course, correct.
