Please critique. A non-standard size and ratio of this Tri-Colored Heron at the Circle-B-Bar Reserve.

Seems a little noisy, I'd run a light NR. As for composition, I'd flip it horizontally, GBH to the left looking right. As it sits, my eye comes in from the left and when I hit the bird, I want to follow it's gaze so I have to stop and go back to the left. If it were inversed, my eye would come from the left and follow the GBH body, neck and continue with it's gaze to the right. Just a thought.

Flipped and denoised. Knowing the original image, I can't like this direction as much as the original, but I can see your point about the flow of the image. Thank you for the input.

Hi Wayne... Honestly I think this one is over done... the heron doesn't look natural now... I might crop it a little differently (remove some on the far right). play with the luminance and the levels to make the heron pop a little bit more.

Bird on the right was fine, IMO. The world doesn't flow left to right just because we read and write that way. :) The thing that could most improve this picture to me is if the bird wasn't looking away from the camera. You can only see half of the eye. There's often little you can do about the bird's position, where they move, and where they look, but in the end all of those things make a difference in the final picture. It's still a good picture, just with room for improvement, IMO. Just my two cents worth.
