It was a cool winters morning with a few showers thrown in for good measure. I had a wander through another reserve a little bit further from home than the last two locations in the previous posts.

A few snaps with the Nikon Z 9 and 800mm pf lens

Wow, very nice pictures.
Especially the bronzewing is a very nice bird. I've never seen it.
You got really cool birds there down under (I guess it's down under since there is a kangaroo and you write it's winter).

I just got a 800 and minimum focus distance has been an issue for me - because I went to the local botanical garden where birds land on your hands and follow you 🤦‍♂️ I came back with a macro lens the next day. 😁

amazing bird! That colour-combination on the wing!
Great pictures, thanks for sharing!

Thank you. When the sun shines on their wings the colours look amazing

Thank you, and yes, I am from downunder 🙂

The MFD will become an issue for me in spring as some of the birds do come quite close. Until then I’m enjoying using the 800mm

Beautiful shots! i have that lens on my radar when I go mirrorless. Well done 👍👍👍

Richard what a wonderful set of images with the 800pf. I have had my lens for a few months now and I just love it. It replaced my 600 f4 G version. I love being able to hand hold it. I am sure you are liking yours based on these images.

Thank you Ralph. I have to admit the results are better than I anticipated with this lens.

Excellent set of images, Richard!

Thank you Karen!

Thank you Steven!
