Once one looks past the awkwardness - they are quite beautiful - nice shot

I think their hooked beak and big feet tend to get in the way of their beauty with many people. Most people seem to love their eyes, but I also like how all their feathers on their wings stand out due to the thick, black outline on them and they range from small to large feathers which is pretty cool. You don't see that in many birds. Anhinga are similar and don't get much love, either.
