Tiger Moga on the prowl !
Bandipur@Karnataka
02 Aug 2021
We were nearly finsihing our morning safari at bandipur & suddenly we saw another safari jeep coming towards us from the opposite direction with its occupants very excited & we knew they had spotted the tiger. Then we saw it coming around 15 to 20 m to our right nonchalantly among the bushes.
Our driver quickly reversed the vehicle for nearly 100 m to reach a track junction so that we could see & shoot the tiger properly when it crosses the track.
It looked like ages & we thought the tiger had gone off some where else since we could not spot it between the bushes.
I checked my camera for shutter speed, aperture etc since i knew that the best shots can ne taken only when he is crossing the road & i wont get another chance for good shots after that in the bushes
Finally he emerged from the bushes & every one let their cameras fly
He did not disappont us & walked calmly across the track & crossed to the other side into the bushes
Then he explored the bushes very purposefully ,rubbed his body against a tree to leave his smell & also pissed to leave his scent to warn the other male tigers that this is his territory.
After 5 mins or so he vanished into the bushes & we all came out of our trance
A great & memorable experience. Many of these photos are going to get framed & one can not help admiring his muscular body & the size of his thighs.A real beast in his prime with a bloody nose (that he had earned in a fight with another tiger)
