I don't want to take over but I want to share one more honest to goodness walking around shot from October 1st last year. I had my D500 with a Tamron 18-400 lens and was walking along the river behind our place hoping to catch some Beaver's out of their lodge. I usually see them with very low light so I had a tripod. On my way back home I spied a Great Horned Owl land up high in a spooky looking Russian Olive tree. I also noticed the waxing crescent moon was rising and would possibly transition the tree so I set my tripod and waited. As it got darker and the moon moved closer after a few set up shots I got my Owloween photo. Again not gonna win awards but pretty fun for me just walking around.

Very nice Hut! I like it!

Reminded me of a recent (March 6th) shot I took while out for a walk in our local Provincial Park (had my D750 200-500 with). These are the White-tailed variety though. Totally unexpected as the Deer can hear you coming from miles away as it's extremely loud walking around on the crunchy snow and ice these days in the park. Pleasant surprise seeing them at fairly close range.

Just thought I'd share some the bird species I came across while out on a walk this early 2021 spring day. Nothing particularly special about these images, but it made me stop and think. Wow, nature sure does have an incredible color pallet.
The Starling picture was a first for me. I have seen (and heard) these birds a couple of times before but they always stayed way up high in the trees. My first decent look at one.

Thanks 😎👍I do prefer the D850 but it’s ok. Seems to be less noise on the D850 but this is manageable. It was low light and I only saw a couple birds flyby so didn’t get enough to evaluate bif

Nice shots, Hut! I have the 850 and a D7200, and have been wanting to replace the 7200 with a D500, mainly for the autofocus system, image processor and buffer. The trouble is that I wonder if I still may lean toward the 850 for wildlife. Decisions, decisions, decisions!

I have had my D500 for a long time but personally I enjoy the D850 more so the D500 collects a lot of dust

Still getting to know my Z6II so I took it for a walk this evening with the 500mm PF mounted up and a 1.4x TC in my pocket.

I'm getting pretty happy with my Z6 II though I'm still not 100% sold on the EVF though it was useful to see and compensate for the bright swan highlights in real time. I'm very happy with the way the AF system just shrugs at adding the TC to the 500mm PF, that definitely opens up options for a lightweight long focal length kit.

Was out walking the dog mid-morning when I came across some active Red Winged Blackbirds by a local marsh and was lucky to have this guy fly right past us showing off his colors. Light was a bit harsh on this sunny day but I'm happy with how this came out.
