Even more memory for upcoming trip. Pretty sure I have enough now :)

Ordered at Mike’s Camera on Sunday, delivered this afternoon ->Thursday.
I’m stoked!
I bought it for the autofocus. It feels about the same weight as my D850, 500PF combo.

I ordered at Mike’s because I owed him one. Last winter I placed a request for a 500PF then ordered through Nikon and Mike’s called me right away with one. I felt like a jerk so promised myself I would make it right.

Very recently purchased a dell 4K 27" monitor. Having now a Sony camcorder that records video in 4K amd a compact that also has 4K the monitor was really a necessity. OK this is a camera site but being able to grab a frame from video and working on it proves interesting as shown below

I just bought a beat up MF 500mm f/4 from mpb for about $300. Supposedly the optics are clean and all the wear is cosmetic, so I'm pretty stoked! We'll see how good/bad it is when it gets here, not to mention how I do with MF only.

After wanting to dip my toe into the murky world of mirrorless, I decided yesterday to buy my self a Z50 with the 16-50 and 500-250 kit lenses, plus the FTZ adaptor, as a light and very portable setup. By all accounts this little camera is remarkably good and I want a decent small rig that doesn't attract attention when not specifically birding and yet I can still use my F mount lenses when needed.

I am going into hospital probably this week and this year will be spending many more weeks inside also, so it will become my 'hospital camera' and I intend to relieve some of the boredom by finding things to shoot from (and in) the confines of my room...if I'm really lucky I may get a pigeon or gull roosting outside the window!! :)
Good luck in the hospital. I just got out after a six-day stay and have have another "visit" scheduled in a few weeks. Do make sure that you have a safe place to store your belongings as it is not uncommon to be out of your room or just out of it when people may enter without your knowing. I had no issues (and did not necessarily expect to), but only had a tablet and phone with me.

Good luck,

Thanks very much Ken, yes I'll be careful. I've been in hospital for 7 weeks already on and off since May and luckily have had no problems so far. Will stick to just the 16-50mm I think. I'm going to have to be very creative with my subject matter though....treatment rooms are not exactly beautiful so may have to do mainly macro shots. :)

Just traded my trusty old AF-S 50/1.4G on a Z 50/1.8S. So pleased to get rid of that clumsy FTZ thing off the 50. Now the only F lens left is the beloved AF-S 70-200GII ED - so the bloody FTZ still lives in my bag. Hey Granny Nikkor where's my 100-400?

Huge enormous spend just now!!! true. Just ordered 8 enelope pro AA 2500mh batteries . Cost £29 including P/P. Me last of the big spenders
Mine arrived from Amazon today, I was thrilled to discover that 4 Eneloop Pro High Capacity Ni-MH rechargable batteries come with a charger! No wonder 8 batteries cost $US55.98. They are without a doubt the best you can buy, so I knew they were expensive.... but free chargers WOW!

To keep it small, you might consider a Marumi close-up filter, a Lumecube Panel Mini and a very small tabletop tripod. This could give you some nice options in a small package. Ipads can also act as a light source with the right app. Hope you continue to heal!
