I haven't bought any equipment in a while. I got a new Black Rapid strap about a year ago. Last summer I picked up a new Nikkor Micro 105mm F2.8VR and about 6 months ago I bought a new camera backpack (Lowe Pro 450 Tactical). No other cameras or lenses. I'm kind of waiting to see what the next generation of mirrorless brings.
Isn't the 105 f2.8 a great lens? I was just using mine yesterday.

My last purchase 8 months ago was the AF-S 70-200mm 2.8 E FL ED and ranks pretty high as one of my sharpest Lens when paired with the D850.
I will add that my next purchase will be Mirrorless just waiting to see what Nikon is going to roll out next.
Love that lens!

No, even in bright light the AF hunts way too much and will not remained locked on the subject. IQ is okay but otherwise it’s unacceptable. As almost all others have noted, used directly on the camera, it’s brilliant!

Which Nikon body? I use that combo with the D6 (and earlier D5) and have solid instant lock on focus, even in light requiring iso of 12K. I recently removed it and could see the naked lens on D6 is a bit sharper, but the 14-III is very solid.

Nikon Z7II and a 24-70 f2.8 S series lens. Wanted a third body for an upcoming Africa trip, and thought I would see what all the fuss is about with these new mirrorless cameras. Have to admit I like the camera, and the lens is superb, but AF not quite on par with the d850s.

Nikon Z7II, agarre y adaptador Ftz, tuvieron que probarse después de mucha lectura. No es tan malo como dicen ... y esperando la actualización del firmware para ver si mejora el seguimiento de Af

I bought the Nikkor Z 20 mm f1.8 S for landscapes and nightscapes. I goes along with my Z6 II and D500, 500 f5.6 pf, 300 f4 pf, TC 14- III, 24-70 f4 S and 70-300 f4.5-5.6 e. The rest stays at home.

I recently got a Z6II with 50mm and the FTZ for my telephotos etc to give it a try and so far so good. Biggest advantage so far is actually being able to check images and see what you are videoing when in bright sunlight (which is most of the time where I am).

I bought a Nikon ES2 slide digitizer and a used Nikon 60mm f2.8 G macro lens to digitize some of my old 35mm slides and negatives. And a used Nikon 105mm f2.8 G VR lens from a friend who switched to Sony. Some of the low prices for used quality Nikon glass are too good to pass up.

I've been purchasing light modifiers for my home studio this past month...2 softboxes. a diffuser umbrella, reflectors, light stands and modifiers to adapt my flashes to a Bowens mount. Today, a Godox LF308D bi led light should be delivered to provide more lighting options in addition to 3 flashes and an Aputure MCRGBWW led light . Overkill, no doubt!

My last purchase was a Tamron 45mm f/1.8 prime for my D850 bought last August. I'm staying pat with my Nikon dslrs and glass for now, but plan on selling my Nikon gear and move to Canon, probably the R3 when it becomes readily available.

Black Rapid Strap - purchased last year (the day they announced shelter in place in South Dakota). It is a game changer when hiking and lugging around a Tamron 150-600mm.
Still playing the waiting game on a camera upgrade, D600 is still going strong, but the mirrorless systems have a lot of appeal.

Nikon Z 105 MC for my Z7, and... Sony A1 + 200-600mm and 135mm f1.8 . Will keep the Z7 for landscape and macro, Sony for fast action and wildlife. Still wondering if I should sell my 500PF with FTZ, or keep it until something new (Z 600 PF ?) comes from Nikon (in 2025 ?)
Wow, that's a lot of new gear! How do you like the A1?

Today I will receive via UPS an Olympus 150-400mm f4.5 zoom, for which I have waited a while. I recently sold some older gear to take some of the sting out of the great big price tag, but it still is a big investment. It should be well worth it in enhancing the M43 side of my two-sided camera bag (the other side is Nikon).
Nice! Good luck with your new lens!

You'll LOVE the 105 2.8!

I'm interested to hear how you like the Alpha 1, 200-600mm combination? Some have said it is a compromise but the image samples I have seen look incredible. I am certain at least as good as anything I have ever produced with any of my stuff. Granted those are pros and I am not but. . .

The last two photography items I bought was a Z7ii and a Colorado Tripods head. I haven’t see tripod head yet, still at home in the box, but I really liked the smaller one I bought last year. The Z7ii I wanted for the slightly improved AF and a second high MP body. I really like the camera so far, but like everyone else, am a bit envious of the better AF tracking and eye AF from Sony and Canon.
