I placed my order with our local camera shop in April 2022 and was the first to do so. I was informed today that I can expect delivery late next week!
I ordered shortly after we returned from Kearney, Nebraska last year and will now have it for our return trip this year!!! Sandhill Cranes here we come!
Slow, but they are coming. I am not NPS, just a guy with a credit card.

Was told last Friday it would be in this week. Got call and picked up on Monday! Now I have to check it out. However outside temp is -4F/-20C so I may have to try it out through the picture windows first.

It is great to see more copies are reaching their owners. It is very unclear how many copies Nikon is producing of the 800 PF. Roland Vink's website is the primary source of serial numbers. The current total - obviously an underestimate - is 3287 sold since April 2022

There were previous attempts using shared serial #'s that estimated Nikon was making at peak 500-1000 copies / month of the 500 PF, which some will recall was also backordered for months through 2019 (!) Some of us suspect the estimate was closer to 1000 copies/month.

This dpr thread is tracking and reporting latest serial numbers to at least get someway to estimating production. For security etc, these can be reported as 200052** etc, and also shared with Roland Vink

This whole "did you get your 800?" thing has basically become kind of a crapshoot, it turns out. Yes, NPS people have had priority, but especially in the past few months more and more regular folk have received their lenses. In another forum, I read an exchange just yesterday which indicated that B & C Photo in Las Vegas received an unclaimed 800 PF a few days ago. It was snatched up by another forum participant. Wow. Meanwhile, my own "local dealer' (actually a Texas local dealer), Precision Camera and Video, placed me fourth in their queue many, many moons ago and they have received Zilch since. As of next Monday it will have been ten months since I put down my deposit for the lens. I suppose this is true for lots of people.

I think there was a shipment of 800PFs in the last couple of days, as I just received a call from one of my wait-list stores, offering me one to purchase. Owner says that they only got one in, though. I was also on the list at Precision Camera, but seeing as @GrandNagus50 was 4th on the list and still hadn't gotten the call, pretty safe to assume that I probably wouldn't have received one anytime soon :sneaky:

Edit: received an 800PF on 2/3/23, serial # 200056**
