Wouldn't this be sweet (if true) - R5 firmware with precapture

Now do I understand correctly that there is no IBIS on the R5C? if so then pixel shifting would not work on the C.
It's an odd duck. No IBIS, micro-HDMI, no internal ND, doesn't focus as well as world-class R5, no C-Log 2, not Netflix approved. Not sure who is buying these, the R5 is a better video camera if you can live with the heat issue OR jump into the C70 which is a proper video camera. Or Sony FX3 or FX6.

The R5C got a lot of updates. From Daily Camera News: The R5 C enhances a number of features in comparison to its siblings the R5 and C70, including 4K120 recording, HDMI RAW output, Canon Log 3 HLG/PQ support, unlimited recording time, a timecode port, Dual Pixel CMOS AF with eye detection, an active cooling system, a high-power LP-E6NH battery, 13 reassignable buttons, and a multi-function shoe for XLR adapters.

AND it just got approved by Netflix which is a huge boost. Probably the addition of C-log3. It's a very capable camera and given the giant user base and lenses out there, they are finding buyers for it in its unique slot.
