The Wandering Glider is the longest distance flying insect, very common over the entire globe. the mutillid Dasymutila sicheliana was a nosy little critter fascinated by the Ammophilia who had buried a catepillar for her egg and was filling in hole. Three different times she picked him up and flew away with him. The 4th time, he stayed away from her. LOL I was amazed at the size rocks this wasp could move, notice the one she has hold of. When she was done you could not even see where the hole was.

Superb photographs. Have never really put any effort into photographing flying dragonflies which just might explain why I only have one keeper photo of a dragonfly in flight. You did very well with that one. I've always found those wasps called velvet ants fascinating and you photographed a beauty.

Thank you. There were many many dragonflies which gave me many many opportunities. That's what it takes. LOL The velvet ant was amazing and what amazed me the most of all is why that Ammophelia didn't just kill it instead of taking the trouble to grab it and fly away. :)
