Does it even cover the entire sensor? I rented the cine version and it did not. Didn't matter since I was interested in an s35 video, but something to consider for stills. Nice and sharp and good color.

You have Nikon's most advanced camera body and saddle it was secondary lenses. I don't understand.
Not sure comment is response to my post. In cinema, Tokina is near the top of the heap in quality.

I had a Tokina 11-16mm DX lens for my old D500 kit. Before selling it, I tried it on the Z9 just to see. Like any DX lens on an FX sensor, you're going to get vignetting. By which I mean, you're gonna have a small circle of actual photo and a whole lot of black around the edges at the widest bit of the range. You have to zoom in a bit before that goes away. I believe Nikon-branded DX lenses might be detected and automatically swap to DX mode, but I can't recall for 100% certain if it did on the Tokina. I don't think it did, though.
One other thing to keep in mind is that some of the older Tokina (not sure about the specific one you've got) don't have an internal focus motor, so won't AF on the FTZ adapter.
I really did like my Tokina on my D500. It was a great lens for landscape and astro. And it took screw in filters without having to jump through hoops like the F-mount 14-24mm zoom. I got a lot of use out of it. But the hassle on an FX sensor wasn't worth it on my D850 or Z9. I sold it (and most of my leftover DX glass, save one that I use on my IR camera) and got the Z lens in the same general zoom range instead (which is a REALLY nice lens and I'm loving it!)
