Z9 Card Door

Nikon can't win. EVERYONE seriously cried out loud about the Z6 and Z7 doors opening with the slightest of bumps and raked Nikon over the coals for it. So Nikon put a spring loaded slide lock on the door and everyone started to cry about that. The door is SIMPLE to open with one 1 finger and your thumb.

I have no issues with it and like how it is secure from random openings, keeping the weather sealing integrity.

YES, my other sports shooter (my competition) who uses a SONY also loves the Z9 card door as I fumble and he gets the shot.

I'm getting 2 1TB cards and will switch during a lull ... if any. 2TB should suffice. I love all these easily surmountable Z9 tasks.

I'm on the dislike side too, the Z8 gate is so much more fun. I don't complain, just grit my teeth (especially if wearing gloves) and live with it

It's not an issue for me. Then again, the biggest issues I have, photography wise, directly involve me!

I struggle a bit with the Z9 card door. But then I am a bit of a klutz.

If you follow the Z9 user groups, there is a common thread of the Z9 user blaming themselves for all the Z9 foibles and hints that the next firmware will fix everything. It's the Emperor's New Camera . . .

Having both bodies, I have come to love the Z9 door! My Z8 door pops open way too easily. I can be walking with the Z8 on a strap and holding the body a certain way and the door just pops right open. Since I don't have to rapidly open the access door to get to the card that often, I appreciate the slightly harder to open Z9 door. I feel it is way more secure than the Z8 door.

Yep, I'm on vacation and twice I have found 500pf with d the door open while trying to put the camera back in the back that is specific for a body and the 500pf with the adapter. I also found it happened while carrying on the beach yesterday. Not blaming the Z8 but I sure wish I had the z9 door on the Z8
