😮Aren't you in Canada? Obviously not near me (Eastern Ont) where it was -35C the AM and no open water nearby.
Vancouver Island, Victoria area....just consider us part of Washington State as that is what I see in the distance out my living room window....LOL

High of 7C today....that is about normal for this time of year. We had our snow days a few weeks ago....

Of course. I'm jealous but at least we don't get as much rain

Here's one from our outing today. Keep in mind that I have historically not been a BIF person - so I'm still a bit of a "scrub" when it comes to shooting birds. We had decent light today and plenty of opportunity.

Z9, 600mm f4g w/1.4tc (850mm), f5.6, 1/800 ISO250, processed using my normal workflow.

Wow, this is probably the best pic for me in the Z9 thread so far. That 800 mm focal length gives it that pop...love it. Was it shot with wide-area large AF mode or full auto?

Thanks much. And aye - almost all of what I shot was wide area large, varying between f5.6 and f11, and auto-iso today. I played with other settings but that seemed to play best with the older g version lens.

Second time out with my Z9 and I am definitely hooked. All images are from Delta, British Columbia, Canada.

Pileated woodpecker (Nikon Z9+200-500mm @500mm, 1/3200sec at f/5.6, auto ISO (2800), handheld).

2 sequences created in 120FPS 11MP jpeg mode. Bufflehead is just over 1s of shooting. Merganser is ~2.5s of shooting. I lifted off the shutter for a split second just after focus went from the female to the male in order to recenter the male...that is why there is a little stutter at that moment...

VERY impressive. Such smooth panning. My husband does video using a camcorder (Pleasant Videos - watch a couple!) , and he happened to walk into my office while I was watching this. He was stunned by the videos. He said perhaps I should start shooting video and he would quit! LOL! Seriously, very nice and thanks for posting!
