Post them up I'll start off with what I think is my first "keeper" at one point the subject detect jumped to the fish and seemed to be on the eye.

I'm so glad it seems to handle adapted glass well. I was really worried I would NEED to swap out all my F glass ASAP but now I feel comfortable holding onto it and waiting for deals to come my way

No real need to rush out and buy a mirrorless lens. The mirrorless lenses are belter but the F mount lenses are as good as on the comparable DSLR or better, on a Z9 anyway!

not at all - F lenses work fantastic at Z. Esp with the Z9 and it's focus performance! I have both the 500PF and the 600FL on the Z9 and the focus speed is just as good if not better as it used to be on my trusty old D500 (at least my perception). What I like most is focus accuracy -- no need to do focus fine tuning anymore when changing body or adding a TC :) Certainly I'll keep all my special F glass. The only one I sold is the F 24-70 2.8 as I'm just too happy with my Z 24-70 f4 which came with my Z6 originally and I just stopped using my 24-70 F.
The Z 400/2.8 with included TC will be very tempting though :).

Happy to see these results with the Z9/500PF combo, which I'm going forward with. Also, gdecamp's woodpecker with the 1.4TC s encouraging. I was a little leary about having the FTZ adapter and the TC between the Z9 and the 500PF but it looks very good. Of course, photographer's skill was also a factor...

It was an overcast day with not much birds except the terns and i could get some action shots, all shot with the 500mm F4E FL with 1.4TC at 700mm, ISO ranging between 1600 - 3200 . AF was very good and I mostly used Auto-Area AF with lock-on at 1 as the terns were so unpredictable and kept diving frequently. I didn't notice much drop in AF speed with the TC attached too.

Haven't had a chance to do any action shots as the weather has been murky (translate my yard is a mud bowl) since my Z9 arrived. This is done with the 105 1.4 on ftzii wide open. No post except to apply "pet eye reduction" in lightroom. Very pleased with the camera and adapted lens and looking forward to getting into some action.

Nice shot.

Not starting a brand war however I would say it is safe to say the Sony A1 is the closest camera to the Z9. Here is an image I shot with the A1, 600GM of the same species of bird. It is a fairly similar image and you can tell the Z9 sensor is producing great results.

Not to bash but i think the top of this image is indicative of a little too much topaz in the processing. Something funky going on in the bark of the tree.

Great image! I took a similar shot with the same species of bird a couple months ago with a Sony A1 and 600GM with 1.4x. I would say the results of the Z9 with 500PF and the 1.4TC are pretty outstanding!
