Absolutely. Here’s one of my favorites from a few years ago. Blue Belly, or also known as fence lizard, from my Bay Area garden. Giving me a smile.

"….the ”smile”! Great share/shot."

Thanks! Actually, as I look at the next shot in the series, perhaps the smile was not meant for me😉

And now looking even closer, I’m seeing what looks like a tick on his neck. While some may find that a bit gross, it’s interesting because these lizards have a component in their blood that kills Lyme disease, which as a consequence is less prevalent in our area. 🙂

I see what you think may be a tick. It also looks like a bit of blood around it. Interesting about the component they have to kill Lyme disease. Mother Nature continue to amaze.

I always like to see lizards, cute critters. I was also after birds when this character showed up. An Agama lizard.View attachment 24399
An Agama Lizard…strikingly handsome! Fabulous shot…on his level! (I, too, am typically after birds to shoot but become distracted by lizards, dragonflies, insects, bobcats, etc…ain’t life grand!)
