It was 26 degrees (F, not C) at the house this morning but I had a couple of hours so I headed out to a blind I've got set up on a small stream. Kinda frosty at sunrise but the birds were still active and was happy to see this Western Wood Peewee come in and perch for some portraits all fluffed up against the cold.

Nice set!

Okay I saw the painted bunting. I’m enjoying your photos and I’m impressed with the photos using the TC’s. I’ve not been able to get good results with them but my long focal length technique is poor!
Thank you for the kind words, David.
You may have summed up the whole of the challenge. Technique becomes much more critical, as FL increases.
I've discovered that the Z bodies handle TC's quite well (1.4x, 1.7x, & 2x) - just mount & shoot. My DSLR's required that I AFFT each body with each lens & each TC in order to start getting acceptable results. I'm definitely a "work in progress". :)

Wow! I have been in several birding groups and the photography is a mix of results, which is perfectly acceptable in birding groups. But, coming into these threads is inspirational. I am amazed at most of these photos and the skills of the group here. It will certainly drive me to improve myself going forward.
