Went on a day trip to Decatur, AL to shoot the Sandhill Cranes. They winter here and number 5000-7000. I also got one shot of a Whooping Crane but from far away. Tried out my new Nikon 500mm PF prime lens on my D500. The weather was delightful, the cranes were plentiful, and the 500mm PF lived up to its reputation. A good day!
