My home town is on a lake that's part of the Tennessee River, and over the last 10 years or so, some white pelicans have been spending their winters there. Here's a few shots along with a gull and a loon that were around, too. All winter guests around here. I was tickled pink to actually get some BIF shots (mostly) in focus with my old manual focus lens. Granted, there weren't many of them. My favorite has to be the pelican with the fish in its mouth, though.

@Joe B , you are lucky to have that lake near your home town! You can often practice! Nice shots! And yes, the b/w pelican is great however, I like the other shots, too.
