These aren't keepers by any stretch but I SO love ravens that I am delighted I got some raven shots with details -- this giant (had to be 18 inches tall when perched upright) was simply unafraid of me (even tho that behaviour, sadly, would be a whole lot about idiots feeding wildlife). I had to shoo him away from jumping into my open hatch back a few times and he sat so close to me I reached out a few times to see if he'd let me touch him (knowing full well what kind of potential violence to my flesh that beak holds) -- no go, of course :) He just hop stepped out of reach each time and then waddled back into range. His proximity was a challenge. As I'd try to get him beyond minimum shooting distance for the lens he'd hop closer LOL I also couldn't very effectively shoo him to a spot more appealing for a photo location (best I got was he perched on the tailgate of a ranger's pickup. And yes, for much of my time with this bird it was pouring rain and I've yet to buy a rain jacket for the gear.

Well done, Steven. I love your raven shots, especially the very atmospheric one in the rain. It's always a pleasure to shoot the intelligent crows here.
