I was sitting on the dock at a local lake today, watching this coot dive for seaweed. I typically don't photograph coots, but I figured I'd see if I could get a cool splash shot. This image was in the middle of a short burst. The payload was not visible in any other shot.

I think it's a piece of newspaper or magazine.

I seriously doubt it is paper and go more along with the plastic bait theory. There are a couple of companies that make fishing baits with war names. War Eagle & Warbaits. But it's anybodies guess what this is.

It was quite odd. I didn't even see it until I got home.
Some have suggested a fishing lure company that has "war" in the name but this looks like paper to me.
