Actually they always look very black when you see them flying, but I understand they do not have one black feather. !!

We chased them all over New Zealand also. Always thought they were just a black bird with a beautiful voice, until the last day of our trip to Tiritiri Matangi Island. While eating lunch this Tui just happened to drop by and pose for us on the bare branch for several minutes in perfect sunlight to capture all the colors.
