Hi Callie, it was a commercial hide setup and the guy who organised it had set up a tank. The tank unfortunately was very dirty so it was difficult to get a clear shot but it was both interesting to try and watch the birds fish.@agrumpybirdphotographer

Gordon ~ That is awesome! A tank setup, or were you diving too?
Gordon, would love to try this too, at least you got it! Your fishers are beautiful, but my bias of all the ones I have seen (photographs) I think the Asian Pygmy come in as #1 But the Common KF is up there in the top 5 . However, their perches are normally #1!Hi Callie, it was an commercial hide setup and the guy who organised it had set up a tank. Very nice Callie.Dean, He is a beaut!
We have 10 species recorded in SA. There are 93 species worldwide, so this can be one, long post to see how many we can get over time!
So, here is one of our top three beauties, not that the others are ugly!

Super series Peter.15 if you hop over the border and count the ones you'll have to work hard on. About 8 that are accessible. Last slot I'll claim is the grey headed - Halcyon leucocephala.

Dean ~ a mashing sighting - you should post it to your local wildlife/bird forumOk, so this is a genetic mutation so not a new species but first time I seen one today, a white Kookaburra.
Gorgeous bird!
