Cannot believe I'm saying this but I'm missing proper snowfall in Canada this winter. I'm very much a night owl and had to stop myself from just posting 8 aurora photos.

1. Red sun glowing through the thick forest fire smoke. The smoke was a natural ND filter for my first attempt of solar photography.

2. Glowing red sandstone at the Flamming Cliff/Bayan Zak, Mongolia. This famous locality was first explored by the American Natural History Museum in 1922 and yielded the first dinosaur eggs known to science along famous dinosaurs such as Velociraptor.
Edit: Looks like the pano-stitch messed with the forum's ability to read the metadata of this photo: Nikon Z50, Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR, 1/320s, f/6.3, ISO 1100.

@Jonathan Looks like you live in the same city I do. Nice.
@MrFotoFool I live in the Midwest so not many landscape opportunities around me unless you like corn fields haha.

The Tucson photos are from a work trip I took earlier this year, I had a couple opportunities to get some photography in during the trip! Very beautiful area, I went to Saguaro National Park, Sabino Canyon, and the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum.

I’d been out to Tucson one other time a few years ago. Next time I go I might reach out for recommendations if you don’t mind, always good to get info from the locals!

A selection I have on my computer from second half of year. I recently converted my website to all black and white, so these images reflect that. Many of these will be featured in an exhibition I am having in 2024 at Tucson International Airport titled Saguaro.

Truly a magnificent world in which we live! Happy New Years. Bill

Where were the white sand photos taken if I may ask?
White Sands National Park, New Mexico. The IR shot was from a boardwalk loop not too far into the park. The remaining two shots were taken from a dune top near the end/turnaround point of the auto loop. We walked up the dune - an easy walk as this is gypsum sand which does not slide like silica sand.
The IR shot was handheld with a D600 IR conversion using a 720nm filter processed in LrC and PS using Nik SilverEfex. The color shots processed in LrC with PS. The other two were using the Z9 as noted. The panorama was at sunset, while the other shots were during daylight hours.

I need to get back there for a more planned approach as the opportunities are great. Plus, we did not have a good sunset - litlle to no color to "boost" the photos. Hope this helps.
