Many thanks Rick. Sometimes called Wax-eye's or White-eye's they are very common in N.Z.. I've also seen plenty in Japan and Taiwan .

Excellent photos - looks very similar to the White-eyes of Africa, India, Srilanka, Taiwan - I see they are all in the Zosterops family.
