We finally got some snow and temperatures below freezing so it was time to go hiking when everybody is staying warm at home. Grabbed a few shots on the way.

Took the D500 out for a walk today hoping to see some ducks flyby but all I saw was a few Song Sparrows and not another peep.

Terrific thread with wonderful images. I guess I'll join in with a couple of birds that I don't think I've seen posted yet.

First semi-serious outing with the D850 + 500pf yesterday as we were getting a gentle dusting of snow all day long.

Eastern bluebirds (2 males and 1 female if I am not mistaken). Yes, they are facing the wrong way (of course it's not a framing error by the operator).

And a mockingbird that had enough common sense to face the right direction.

Being on the extreme southern edge of it's usual range a Pine Sisken was something of a surprise rare occurrence in our backyard yesterday enjoying the new thistle seed feeder.

Great images everybody!

Here's one from today. Looked out the window to see a couple of these Brown Creepers searching for bugs on the trees, grabbed my camera, opened up a window and waited for one of them to spiral around and into view.
