Oh wow!! We saw one of these for the first time on our last YNP trip and I couldn't get the shot! So frustrating! That's a really great capture there

I just got a western tanager shot myself last weekend in Olympic National Park. I'd love to say I tracked it through the forest but the reality is I stumbled upon it in a bush right in the parking lot! I hadn't even gotten my camera ready yet so I was happy to be able to get set up quickly enough. Just a few seconds after getting my shots some people walked by and flushed it from the bush.
