I took these images a year ago when my husband and I made a trip to the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil. The top image is a Green-barred Woodpecker. The next is a Blond-crested Woodpecker, and the final two are Yellow-fronted Woodpeckers (female first and then the male).
Another Brazil trip bird, first for me. He first showed up right at dawn in very low light. I wasn't a huge fan of those shots. Fortunately, we came back by in about 45 minutes to an hour and he was still hanging around. Light was still soft and even, but enough to realistically get some...
There were two birds displaying in this shot, but the second birds position wasn't great, and I liked this guy's wing position so I just cropped it to a vertical. This also is in the Amazon region of Brazil this past January. Thanks for looking.

It’s 5:50 PM and there's hardly any light left. Speed 1/250, f4 and ISO 12 800. The upper limit I set for ISO is reached. I see the light decreasing more and more in the viewfinder.
