Your post prompted a look at B&H to learn my 800mm PF order of October 3, 2022 was shipped today.

I just happened to see them in stock during a random look while ordering something far smaller and cheaper. Had it on my "Wish List" but since decided that I have more to learn on the long lens I have before I would likely be able to work well with that focal length.

I’ve seen it in stock and ready for immediate delivery at Nikon USA for a few days and a couple of smaller dealers I shop at as well. Now that it’s in stock at B&H, (still in stock 7 hours after the thread started), I guess the lengthy wait times are effectively over for anyone willing to shop around.

Could be that a lot of orders were cancelled now that the 180-600 has been announced. Still in stock this morning....
