I was enjoying seeing a bird i had looked forward to seeing and then we saw the frantic flying while they vainly tried to protect their eggs from the lizard who was going to eat them all.

The Southern Carmine Bee-eater is one of my favorite birds. Can never get enough shooting them. The adult in #1's colour so vibrant and spot on!
The lizard is a Rock Monitor.

Thank you - I was really looking forward to seeing them and thanks for the lizard id. I know they have to eat too but not beautiful bird’s eggs.
